'There is nothing like that. It is all a lie and absolute rubbish. The Chopras haven't held back my money or for that matter anyone's money, ' Kohli told over the phone from Mumbai.
'It is strange how one foolish person writes an article about you and then you need 10 more articles to clarify it, ' he added.
Starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji, the film released June 27 marked Kohli's foray into production. He co-produced it with the Chopras but the film didn't well at the box office and this cast a shadow on the Kohli- Chopra partnership.
Rumours were rife that Chopra refused to pay Kohli his dues after the release of the film due to the losses it suffered. It was followed by a purported tiff between the two resulting in a heated altercation over the issue.
When asked about this, Kohli said: 'Aditya and I are very good friends and these things (hits and flops) happen in life. We have made four films together. Two did well and two didn't work. It is part and parcel of life.'
In the past, Kohli directed super hits like 'Hum Tum' and 'Fanaa' for the prestigious banner. In fact, Yash Raj Films also produced his directorial debut 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge'.
Going by the collections, 'Thoda Pyaar...' got a moderate response at the box office. It is Yash Raj Films' fifth flop in a row after 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom', 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag', 'Aaja Nachle and the over-hyped 'Tashan'.
However, the film was received well at the 5th Stuttgart Bollywood and Beyond Film Festival in Germany.
Overwhelmed at the response, Kohli said: 'The Stuttgart festival was very exciting. It was excellent to see how much impact our films have outside the country.'
Currently, the filmmaker is not planning any venture. 'I am not a factory. Let me start writing something and then I will think about it.'
